how to get pink high lights for someone with black hair?
my boyfriend's sister wants to get pink high lights but she has black hair. would she just use the normal drug store bought ones? or should she go to a salon?

I would go with extensions so you get just the right pink color. If you get pink highlights it might look strange since black is so dark.

First of all she would need to bleach her hair. And the whiter you bleach your hair the lighter the pink will show up. Once you bleach your hair it stays that way forever. So if she wants to take the chance and have making a mistake be a possibility and also to save money, then she should do it at home with store bought bleach and dye. If she's scared and doesn't want to mess up she should go to the salon.

Salon or a clip. You can get some really nice clip in's. Then you can change the colour everyday. If you dye it permanently it looks terrible after a few weeks. It fades and looks awful.
