Can't remove old drivers to install new video card?

I am using both Windows XP and 7 O/S installed on 2 separate internal drives, Windows 7 is totally unimpressed with my archaic video card and drivers and I obviously need to upgrade. However when I try to uninstall the drivers from XP to prepare to fit my new card I get the message " Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up the computer." The drivers are in device manager under display adapters as ~ "NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/ Model 64 Pro" Any suggestions as to what I should do from here would be greatly appreciated.
PS. Un-installing the drivers from Windows 7 is as simple as I assumed it should be.

What the document is telling you...is you do not have pictures adequate to play the game so it would not installation.
