Which films of Aronofsky's are the most intense?
I think Requiem For A Dream is his most intense; it just doesn't let go for like the last half hour.

I love his work. I have seen two different versions of requiem. The unrated one was much better and more intense.
Your question may be too subjective because I loved Black Swan and really got into the psychology of the story line. It was almost a masterpiece. The last scene was a let down (the last line was not in keeping with the climax and was too easy) but the story was well woven overall. There were hiccups but rarely does a movie not have them.

I could bearly stand the last 15 minutes of Requiem for a Dream:powerful to the extreme. So yes I would say Requiem for a Dream followed by Black Swan

I'd have to agree with you. Black Swan was disappointingly dumb. I love The Fountain, but I don't think it's intense at all. I haven't seen Pi yet though, I hate to say.
