Why would my car audio system lose volume when I turn a corner or brake quickly?

I traded in an older car for a 2008 Nissan Altima a few weeks ago. I first started noticing that CDs were losing volume at times, and then I started noticing my satellite radio was doing the same thing. After a while, I was able to pinpoint when it was happening and what the car was doing when it happened. When I make U-turns, left or right turns at intersections, and possibly when I brake at stop lights or stop signs, the audio volume just goes down on its own! That's never happened in any other car I've owned. I don't know if it is typical of Nissans in general, Nissan Altimas in general, or if it is a characteristic of the stereo system that is installed in it (don't know what kind). There are stereo controls on the steering wheel, and I noticed that I am not accidentally touching these controls when I make sharp or 90 degree turns. Could this be typical of car stereos with steering wheel controls?

sounds like a loose connection or the radio problem itself , u can tack it to nissan and they can hook it up to the computer , and tell u what code it has , if any , i would remove the redio & check for a lose conn first & make sure all fuse are good & tight.

Definitely not typical. I've never heard of that (or anything similar) on factory systems...however I have seen stuff like that happen when people have garbage aftermarket equipment (boss, legacy, pyramid, lanzar etc.) When I was an installer, I remember a couple of instances when someone had a similar problem with a Hitron amp...we swapped it out for a Rockford and everything worked fine.

One other thing you could check would be the ground on the headunit (if it is aftermarket). Nissan doesn't have a ground wire in their factory wiring (factory radio gets ground through antenna)...so you would want to check to make sure the headunit has a separate ground wire hooked up BUT the lack of proper ground usually causes a different problem...it causes the headunit to become distorted/shutoff once you reach a particular point on the volume.

Shakes while braking- could be a unfastened caliper, warped rotor or undesirable set of pads, verify toqure on caliper jointly as analyzing pads, in case you have a dial indicator verify for runout and a micrometer degree the thickness because of fact in the event that they have been grew to become earlier they could be bellow spec and reason that to happen. in case you may no longer remedy it or restoration it your self purely to be helpful to take it to a solid technician and enable her or him understand what the indicators are, while they happen, whats the temp of the vehicle, how briskly and highway situations and how long this has been occurring and it truly is resolved devoid of to a lot soreness $$ solid success!
