Now that US manned spaceflight is as dead as disco,what will kids dream about becoming instead of Astronauts?

On July 21,2011 US Manned Spaceflight officially came to an end,with the retirement of the shuttle and no real plan in place for the future of NASA other than perhaps some more "Muslim Outreach" as 0bama has tasked them to do.

42 years to the day after Americans became the first to walk on the moon,NASA has no direction,and any future US Astronauts will be nothing more than hitchhikers on Russian or soon Chinese Spacecraft.Basically,nothing any child would aspire to,so what will the next generation of kids dream of becoming,other than astronauts?

You do realize that it was Bush that ended the Shuttle program - and that Obama cut the budget because of the mess Bush left behind?

Sorry to politicize it but you started it. There are other manned programs in the works, but they're going to take time to get off the ground. By the time that kids in grade school are old enough to apply to the space program, there will be a new launch system ready.
