Actually you are wrong about the value of memory, it may not be "eternal" but is is significant, I know that I always try to live my life in such a way that even the memory of my life is a blessing to my family and friends. Through memory I can express my love for them beyond even my own death. You are a Christian and you don't know this?

As for another species? I cannot imagine being anything else really, because there are literally thousands of things that make being a human one of the best things to be just in terms of quality of life.
