Ive had my Toshiba laptop for little over a month, and I got Insignia speakers to go with it. I use skype sometimes, and today the microphone stopped working. (it was working fine earlier). After looking at it for a little bit I found that the microphone only works when the speakers aren't plugged in. How do I fix this?

check to see if the microphone is muted when you plug in the speakers.
This is probably done to stop feedback get an external microphone.

That's bullshit. I am having the same problem. It's not the settings. Some how the driver is not working. Tried reloading the driver as the Toshiba website recommends but the mic is still not working. Don't know what to do now. Can't get any good answers that fix the problem.
