Is the US becoming the new USSR?

A former USSR citizen spoke to a group of people about life in the USSR and how the US is transforming into socialism. Watch this video and let me know if you think he is right about what he sees.

I can tell people didn't watch the video. Especially Hobbit. The speaker specifically mentions the similarities between Labor Unions in the USSR vs those in the US.

I don't think so.
The only group that is advocating USSR style policies is the Tea Party.. Yes, I said the Tea Party. For example, they want to take away the right of workers to organize and -- as in Wisconsin, replace it with decrees handed down from a central authority, with no binding contract negotiated in the free market. Note that among developed nations -- only communists don't have labor unions. That's what the Tea Party wants.

Fortunately, their influenced ha peaked. in 5 years they will be history.

No. We have right to protest, gun ownership, and freedom of speech. That is not the USSR.
