I plan on getting tasteful tattoos (they're definitely not offensive) and they'll be in a place that can be covered...I don't know I asked this question when I knew I'll be able to hide them lol. Thanks for the answers anyway!

Depends where they are. If you are planning on opening up your own bakery and have a personal cliental and plan on spreading your business by word of mouth of friends and family, then any tattoos should really be no problem. Besides that it depends on your boss, a lot of people think of tattoos as "low life" or "dirty" so it could affect your career if you have visible ones.
Today, tattoos have gained wider social acceptance and more and more people, men and women alike, have them. People with tattoos work in a variety of industries and hold entry-level jobs as well as top executive positions. So, what's an employer to do? Is body art a workplace issue? Does having a visible tattoo say anything about an individual that is relevant to his or her job?
In today's global marketplace, employers are taking more seriously the need to provide a work environment that welcomes employees from many different backgrounds. The competition to attract and retain skilled workers has resulted in corporate cultures that strive to demonstrate the value placed on individual and group contributions. And there is increasing attention paid to offering a company culture and benefit package that supports a variety of lifestyles. Should someone with a visible tattoo be treated any differently?
Depending on what and where the tattoo is, there may or may not be an issue for employers. The laws still tend to support employer dress code/appearance policies in general and employers retain some flexibility in creating rules that require employees to present themselves in a way that is consistent with the employer's image. But that doesn't mean that banning tattoos altogether is appropriate. In some cases, it can still violate the law.
The rapid change in work culture or business culture is a main cause for it. Also the pattern of living has changed a lot particularly in cities and towns. Was there a night shift culture or getting jobs in a far away place from home prevailed some 30 years back as common as now a days? This has changed the behavior of us as well. We find it hard to spend time for our self. Even the society setup has changed, earlier the entertainments were limited, now you have so many of entertainments facilities make us drown in them. Lastly the human behavior due to the above factor has changed, lot of jealousy, envy starting from my child has taken up this coaching, is scoring high mark....blah blah blah..... which has reduced the hospitality around and nosedived. It has taken a new route see the gathering of friends in a common place let it be a pub, bar, club, ........ What happened to the culture of going to the temple in the evening to listen to the Kadhakalasebam? now people go to temple in a mechanical way to get flowers from the preist rather than to spend time in temple to pray, discuss to God within... We are all prefering forums such as Y!A to share rather than prefering our old cultural habits.
Tattoos often indicate prison time. Most criminals have tattoos. Recent surveys show that most people with tattoos will end up in jail, and most people in jail have tattoos. And a lot of criminals learn to cook while in jail. So you might fit right in!
