Seniors, have you ever been so tired you can hardly wait until bedtime?
It's not even 10 PM yet but I am so sleepy. But if I go to bed this early I know I will wake up by 4 or 5 AM. Is this just a symptom of old age?

Once in a while I will get so tired, I fight to keep my eyes open. It usually passes shortly, but today I had to succumb to it. But I am a sleeper and cannot nap for a half hour or so. I sacked out on the sofa for 2 hours with the TV going and now I suppose I'll be up all night.
I believe the weather change has something to do with it for me. Leaves are starting to yellow and drift with the breeze, which I find rather depressing.

Most evenings. around 7 or 8, I take a nap. And then wake up again at 11 or 12. So what? I can get up and read, or work with my computer, or turn on the TV kind of low and work on my counted cross stitch. Go back to bed whenever I get sleepy. then get up again when I want to.
That is one of the beautiful things about retirement. If I am tired, I sleep. If I am awake, I get up. No deadlines. I no longer set an alarm, because it does not matter what time I get up in the daytime.

I'm a night person.
Since retiring - I don't worry about what time it is.
I stay up most all night and sleep during the day.
Always need a 1 or 2 hour nap too.
My hubby is an early bird - which works well.
Tonight I have my alone time.
Tomorrow he will have his time and space - while I sleep.
Our together time is in the evening - from 6 or 7 pm till his 11pm bedtime.
I couldn't be a night person while raising children and working.
Love it now and love life.

No, it not old age..I'm like that too and have been for a long time..But sometimes when I do go to bed and read a few pages in my book, i will feel sleepy but just can't sleep..so no matter what time I go to bed I still get up early like you do..even if I take a 20 minute power nap..I've read on Yahoo news that people who spend a lot of time on the computer lose sleep more..so maybe that my problem too..zzzzzzzzzzzz have you ever fell asleep at your computer?..zzzzzzzzzz.=)

If you'd taken a nap today, you wouldn't be so tired to be in bed by 10:00. By
the time you reach the age of 67, you also will feel the need to have a nap in
your day. There's something about that age and older, that just requires it. We
have become exhausted to some point, and have to sleep and recoop our energy
base. Some of us, have a stronger need than others, of course. But as seniors,
we're free to be what we are. Free of schedules, for one thing. And didn't we
wait long enough for these days to come? We can now sleep without guilt! And
we don't have anyone to tell us we're lazy. LOL.
