Yes otherwise your tube could burst and you could die as well as the baby.

i don't think you necessarily HAVE to from what i read on wiki just now, but i'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and have the book what to expect when your expecting and it has a section on eptopic pregnancies that says the "fetus will not survive the pregnancy" and has a survival rate but i don't remember what it was because i don't have my book with me currently. it says that the doctor will more than likely "remove the fetus" but i've not decided if that means try to put it where it should be or completely gone y'know? i'm pretty sure that they will "treat" it as a miscarriage, because that happened to a family member of mine. i could be totally wrong and the best way to find out for sure it to ask your doctor. hope this helped at least a little.

if they find out that you are having an ectopic pregnancy then yes you will need to terminate the pregnancy, in most cases the fetus cannot develop properly where it has attached and it can be very dangerous to the mother as well, there are a few cases of the mother carrying an ectopic pregnancy to term but in those cases the embryo attached to the outside of the uterus and was still able to develop, this is really very rare though, I've heard of 2 cases of successful ectopic pregnancy.

I have also only heard of a couple successful ectopic pregnancies but those babies were not carried to term, they had to be born really early and incubated (around 24 weeks) because the amniotic sac which is not inside the uterus attaches itself to your major organs. Those babies also have a higher risk of being born with mental deficits. Removing the baby was also a dangerous task to the mother and baby because of being attached to the organs. Generally, the baby will be miscarried naturally I personally wouldn't want to risk my life over it.

You don't have an abortion when it's ectopic unless the egg hasn't attached yet. In most cases it's a surgery to remove the egg from the tube.
