I have at my disposal, a 4000 sq. ft. warehouse. It is in an industrial side of town, and I do not have to pay rent for 1 year. If this space was available to you, what kind of business would you start utlizing such a space?
I am looking for any good wholesalers where I can purchase a large amount of product, store it, and ship later. I just earned a degree in Business, so now I am ready to start one.

I guess it really depends on what interests you. Since the possibilities are endless, it should be something you have an interest in, something that you like. No sense in selling pre-made pottery and ceramics if you have absolutely no interest or knowledge in that. But, there are a ton of suppliers out there that make clothes, artisan foods (but you might want to stay away from perishable stuff), furniture, cooking accessories, etc...you know what is big right now? Anything that is "green" or "local." Or places that deal with artisans from 3rd World countries, so that may be a direction to look into. A really good idea would be to do some internet research on what the most successful internet business' are now (and also internet business' you like in general) and then find one that looks good/interesting to you, and then find a way to make it better. I would stay away from anything that has a niche following. Yes, you can sell handmade swords and custom knifes for a nice profit, probably, but how many people are really buying those things, especially in this economy? And especially in your first year, I'd try to keep it simple and streamlined. You don't want to cause consumer confusion by offering too many things in too many departments, especially until you fully get the hang on running your own business. Don't forget too, it's not just rent that goes into a business overhead. You have to consider heat, gas, electric, water, machinery, employees, insurance, advertising, etc...into the final cost as well, so if you are "testing the waters" so to speak, I'd stick with something fairly easy and that you could manage on your own or with very few employees. you should turn it into a dungeon. like the kind dominatrixes have. if its in the industrial part of town you should have plenty of business. construction workers and such are more often than not serious weirdos in the sack.
get online or go to a club or something and find some mistresses that might be interested in joining your little business venture.
