What kind of carbide lamp is this and is it worth anything?

It looks exactly like this one but says welt laterne on the top. The fill cap is also a little more decorative and also carries the weltlaterne logo on it. I've searched the internet and found nothing. It looks 100% complete and in very good condition. I think its German. I got it for free from a neighbor that was throwing it away.

Your lamp is an old lamp used as a bicycle light. Since it is more decorative than the one shown it is probably worth more. I would say at least 10 percent.

If it's in good shape I'd assume it's worth the same or more than the one in your link. I can see why you'd have trouble looking it up. I just googled "weltlaterne" and all the sites are in German, which I don't read more than 5 words of. But a little guessing tells me that the word means "world lantern", not that that gets us any further ahead. Probably a brand name. How about writing to the person listing the one in your link and ask if they know anything? I wish I'd found this thing. Carbide lamps are really cool.
