Can dehydration cause PROM (Premature rupture of membranes) in pregnancy?

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if dehydration can cause this. I am very concerned and paranoid especially since I had a miscarriage a year ago at 20 weeks. My water broke as soon as I got to the hospital and unfortunately my baby girl didn't make it. I believe it happened either from being very dehydrated (I drank alot of soda and juice and barley a water bottle a day through my previous pregnancy) or from ignorantly listening to a careless, idiot doctor and taking Motrin when I was 2 months pregnant. ( I had a horrible ear and throat pain.)

I now try and stay hydrated and try hard taking care of myself in this current pregnancy but I find it difficult because water fills me up very easily and makes me feel very uncomfortable :/ also I urinate very frequently by just drinking half a water bottle so its a bit difficult of making my goal of drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day.

Any input is appreciated (:

The doctor was not my own doctor.

I took Motrin Pm (the one that helps you sleep) starting from 2 months of pregnancy up until my miscarriage at 5 months. I truly regret listening to that idiot.

I am a first time mom and I really wasn't aware that being dehydrated could cause contractions and even preterm labor. I was recently sent to hospital for having leg and back pain and contractions (I wasn't aware of the feeling of a contraction since this is my first baby) It turned out I was having contractions due to dehydration. I had to get an IV for fluids to hydrate me and morphine to calm down the contractions. I was released once I was hydrated and stable. This happened monday and I am 32 wks never had it happened before but the feeling of having to go thru preterm is stressful so I make sure I drink enough water through out the day. Better safe than sorry ....i try to follow all my drs orders to the T.
