What are the names of some turn of the century boom towns in CA?

I'm a photographer looking to photograph boom towns in CA that started in the late 1800's and early 1900's with a downtown section that still has original architecture. Elaborate marquees with neon signs are a plus.

Harmony is amazing. Its a very small town (population 18) that still has most of the original buildings. Back in the 1930s they were a dairy town and it still shows. The town is absolutely beautiful in my opinion.
