How do you get paid in the Marines?

Is the paycheck sent to your bank account every so often?

What if you don't have your own bank account? (and say, live with your parents or at a friends without them charging rent for example)

Do they fix the problem if they make a mistake in your pay? (too much, too little, etc.)

If you don't have a bank account of your own, do they just not pay you?

(P.S. I know money is a dumb reason to join, this is simply out of curiosity)

Thank you for your time.

If you are joining the Marines they will set you up with either navy fed or pacific marine when you arrive at boot camp so they can make direct deposits into your account. I highly recommend dumping pacific marine as soon as you are done with boot camp. They are awful! USAA is amazing and I can not be happier with a bank! You will get paid on the first and fifteenth of the month (they usually pay you a day early)
If they make a mistake and owe you money you have to wait for them to repay you. If they made a mistake and over paid you then they will audit you and take out the money. This is why you have to pay attention to you bank account to be sure they didn't make a mistake.

you MUST have your money paid into a bank account period, so either have one set up before you go OR they will show you how to do it in basic / bmt etc.

It is NOT every so often, you get paid on the 1st and the 15th of each month.

They can and do make mistakes............if they owe you then they drag their feet, if you owe THEM they can and often do take it all out in as large a sums as they can get away with, so IF you see a huge amount that you are not sure about then do not rush off and spend it.

Fail to see why living any place special / different has any impact on you having a bank account, most people adult enough to enlist has usually got around to being a big enough boy to open an account at some place....................

If you was thinking about enlisting then I would strongly suggest that you look at the banks / credit unions aimed at military members.

The truth is all services (army navy marines coastguard air force) base pay is the same, however each indivdual service has different allowances, ie allowances for spousal housing, allowances for spousal support food etc. The Air Force has the most money alloted towards family support, then the Navy and Coast Guard, the Army and Marines are at the last of the list, with the Marines slightly behind.

You are paid on the 1st and 15th of every month. Regardless of if you have a bank account, one will be opened for you in boot camp/basic training, which is where they will send your paycheck.

As far as pay goes in the military it is basically the same as any other job (less being paid for overtime). If there is a problem with it, someone will fix it.

You must have a bank account since all pay is direct deposited. This is the only way the military pays. If you do not have an account, they open an account for you at Basic/Bootcamp.

If they overpay you, they fix it immediately by taking the overpayment out of your next pay. If they underpay you, they tend to take their sweet time fixing it. You will eventually get all pay due to you.
