how was it leaving the corporate world and starting your own business?

I'm safe in my corporate job. I have benefits and a salary. I'm looking into starting my own business but am scared and won't have benefits. What was your experience with the "leap"?

It was a blessing. A little scary at first but after that it was smooth sailing. Loved what I did and still doing it. I love being my own boss, no set hours, you learn as you go along. It will be the best move you will make if you are passionate about what you do. Have courage and step out of the boat. Your excitement and enthusiasm will sell your business for you! Good Luck!!

Scary and confusing -- and great. After a shaky first year or two, I'm happier now than I ever have been in my entire working life!

Make sure you're the outgoing type. The thing that surprised me the most is how much networking I needed to do before I started getting people referring clients to me (Web design).

Good luck! And remember that the nice people at SCORE (http://www.score.org) are there if you need any advice.

It was the best move I ever made. I just wish I had done it 10 years ago!
