There's going to be a valentines dance in Feb. I want to wear a dress, but i'm not a girly person and my mom will make me wear it to church and stuff. How can i ask her without her making me do those things.

just say plainly u just want that one special night to see what u would feel like and to look beautiful but other than that ur not that kind of person maybe once in a while u feel like getting dressy and turning heads if u dont already do :) i know i like getting dressy sometimes but im a plain tomboy then slip into a dress and turn heads let ur mom know there is a divider :D
say "hey mom, we have a valentines dance coming up and i really want a special dress for this dance and only this dance. Can I get one?" Hope this helps!
Ask for a dress specifically for that event, buy a dress that best fits that event, and ask her nicely to let you be yourself and to not force you to do things you don't want to.
