How can i ask my mom for a dress?

There's going to be a valentines dance in Feb. I want to wear a dress, but i'm not a girly person and my mom will make me wear it to church and stuff. How can i ask her without her making me do those things.

Update:

Ask for a dress specifically for that event, buy a dress that best fits that event, and ask her nicely to let you be yourself and to not force you to do things you don't want to.

find a dress that's too scandalous for church, and say mom, this is not church appropriate! haha good luck.

Say "i.would like to have this dress" she will buy it. Then, after the dance... Burn the dress.

Just say, "Mom, i really want to do this just once to see how it is so don't ask me to wear it anywhere else!"

    borrow/rent a dress:

or buy it and sell it
