Do you accept the Christian God's apology?

I was at a church group because a girl invited me and I'm an Atheist. The pastor and some other bigot people asked me to tell them what's wrong with God. They told me to go up on stage and just try to say what god should do better because they can prove I'm wrong. I flawlessly stated "I think God is an a$$. He should just come out and say:

I'm sorry about cancer and the bubonic plague, I was just in a foul mood about some bad enchiladas. I'm sorry about the crusades, and jihad, and the inquisition, and witch burnings and suicide bombers, and people who fly into buildings. I'm sorry for deliberately destroying your self esteem by asserting that you are wicked and sinful EVEN if you are a good person. I apologize that I have made you anticipate judgment day. Because of me over a BILLION people ACTUALLY want the world to end, and I understand that that is incredibly dangerous, and i am very sorry for that. I'm sorry about televangelism, I'm sorry about the billions of dollars wasted on churches and preachers. I'm sorry about the billboards and bus signs, I'm sorry about the people who knock on your door every weekend, and the posters and the park benches, web pages and fliers, ect. ect. I'm sorry about the bogus legislation. I'm sorry that modern public policies are constantly being pressured to conform to an ancient book. I apologize on behalf of my followers who try to control who can and can't get married. I am sorry I made you believe that women aren't equal. THEY ARE. I'm sorry if I made anyone think that slavery is okay. IT ISN'T. I'm sorry that Christians oppress people then laughably claim that they are the ones being persecuted. THEY AREN'T. I apologize for making people think there is a place called Hell. Only a terrorist would hijack your soul and make demands of submission. I'm sorry that you thought you'd be tortured forever regardless of your transgressions. From the murderer to the masturbater, with all sinners receiving equal punishment. OF COURSE this is highly unfair and UNTRUE. I'm sorry that my followers tell Atheists that they hate me. I realize that Atheists don't even BELIEVE in me, AND FOR GOOD REASON. I have provided no evidence for my existence when all I had to do is simply show myself and I do realize that doing so would have no effect on free will which I don't want to interfere with, even though I used to do it all the time. I'm sorry that my followers have stifled scientific progress. I understand that if not for religion, humans would be much more advanced by now. I'm sorry that my followers arrogantly conclude that scientific theories are wrong JUST because they fail to understand them, even while taking for granted the modern lifestyle provided to them by the very scientific processes that they so arrogantly reject. In other words I'm really, REALLY sorry about those creationists. I'm sorry that my followers constantly call people immoral, especially Atheists who are usually amongst the MOST moral of any given populous, and I'm sorry about these negative misconceptions about Atheists. I'm very sorry about the holier than thou Christians that only ACT moral because they fear my punishment. I PRAISE those of you who let your EMPATHY guide your morality. I'm sorry that I made religious people believe that they are accountable to ME rather than their victims. Finally, I am most sorry that the fears and grief of innocent people have been abused and misshaped by religion into a political tool for the selfish gains of the powerful few from ginks to popes, from presidents to prime ministers manipulating the stupid, romantic masses, I am sorry that this selfishness has been around to influence the condition of your very world."

By the end of it, old people were crying, teenagers i go to school with were making faces, and the adults were SHOUTING at the top of their lungs prayers to Jesus. I looked at the girl who invited me, she was crying and hasnt spoken to me since. This was 3 months ago.

But, what do you think? Was I right? Or despite the evidence against them and the obvious stupidity and slavery of their minds, were the Christians right?

it is so stupid how people actually say "That was ALL humans, not god." I wasnt aware humans were able to create cancer, the bubonic plague, take the form of god and deliberately destroy your self esteem by asserting you are wicked and sinful, ect.

I think this story is fiction.  You took time to compose that speech and if you had given it on the spot you wouldn't remember it all long enough to write it here.  I also don't think you would be that rude to a friend when you are a guest, nor do I think that many Christian camps would be rude enough to a guest to put them on the spot about what they believe.

About your essay:
First your religious education is abysmal.  An atheist should have a basic knowledge of religions as cultural literacy, just as a fundamentalist should have a working knowledge of evolution.  Your speech is supposedly addressed to the Christian God yet it contains references to jihad(Islam), suicide bombers (Shinto and Islam), and people who fly into buildings (Islam).

I don't think I have the space to take your essay point by point, but I will hit the high points:

1)The point you are right on is self righteous people.  However, to assume all Christians are self righteous is no less a stereotype than assuming all atheists are immoral.

2) Evangelism and Proselytism: ("televangelism . . . billboards and bus signs . . . the people who knock on your door every weekend, and the posters and the park benches, web pages and fliers")

What you are really attacking is the freedom of speech.  You have no trouble posting your opinion of God on this site, in a deliberately inflammatory manner.  Yet, no one should approach you with their opinion.  This is a double standard.

Reality check:  It isn't the Christians who are trying to change marriage laws.  Christians are trying to maintain the old law which dates back to before America was Europeanized.

4) Slavery and Women's Rights:  Christianity has traditionally been in the forefront of human rights.  Even today the Christian countries are stronger on minority rights, women's rights, and etc than the non Christian countries.  China is officially atheist.  They kill their baby girls.  America is Christian.  They adopt hundreds of girls from China to save their lives.  There are a million more examples throughout the world.

5) Hell:  Your ideas of Hell are completely un-biblical.  I know where they come from, and I know "Christians" who promote them.  However, like jihad, they have nothing to do with the Christian God.  Read the book before you critique it.

6) Scientific progress.  Your views here are laughably ignorant.  Have you ever read creation science (just to know what the other side thinks)?  You have not.  You know that your theory is right, even if you have to change thedefinitionn of the English word 'theory' to protect it.  Evolution is no more factually supported than Creationism.  It is a philosophical premise that was written by a theologian.  Even by the standards of the nineteenth century it is not scientific.  Until you have read creation science and can answer actual arguments, don't publish your ignorance abroad.

7)  Bad things happen.  This is the result of God letting people live under the leadership they chose.  If humanity had obeyed God this would not have happened.

8) Brainwashing:  that goes both ways.  You have not studied yourpositionn and reasoned it out.  You are merely trumpeting the thoughts of other atheists from the internet, etc.  There is not one original thought in your essay. So as self-righteous as you feel about your intellectual superiority, you aren't thinking things through by unquestionably supporting atheism any more than your imaginary friend and her camp-matess had thought through their belief in the Bible.

I too refuse to read all that, but God does not apologize for anything, nor does he need to!  All the bad stuff in existence can be traced back, eventually, to man's separation from God, and the free will we gained as a result.
