I'm really suprised, because yesterday the team said he wasn't gonna play. Hopefully they're not rushing him and he doesn't end up like Crosby. So what are your opinions on the big news of the day?

I know eh! the same thing got me surprised as well ! it is conformed that Marc Staal will play tonight. I read this article on the official website of NHL.

I don't think that they did proper tests before he plays tonight as the coach just asked him if he wants to play and he said yes, and that is why he is playing tonight! It says in the article!

I hope he stays healthy....I really think it would have been smarter if they waited to play him though considering the conditions of the outdoor game and how heated and physical this game could get. But if he's 100% healthy good for him! Now his brother who concussed him in the first place is the only Staal to not have played in a Winter Classic lol

I'm happy to see him back in the lineup. He has been practicing with the team and has looked good. M Staal is a huge defensive piece for the New York Rangers. Hopefully he stays healthy and performs at the level he did last year when him and Girardi shut the league down defensively for the Rangers.

I'm glad for him. He's doing the same thing Jordan did. Good on him, returning at the classic. Hopefully he's actually set to go. Looking at how long he healed for worries me, though.

Im Proud of being a Canadian citizen. And Dame sure Proud of being a PK Subban fan. Marc Stall being back is good news for the Rangers, Just hope Subban slewfoots and injures him again HAHA.
