Why didn't Browning name the Buck Mark pistol the Squirrel Mark?

So Mushroom, what you're thinking is along the lines of Pabst Mark, or Bud Mark? How about an ultra-light version? The Bud Mark Light?

Bear Crap, I roll with open sights on my Buck Mark. Haven't tried a red dot. Yet...

Would have made more sense. The .22 isn't a deer hunting caliber. How about the "Paper Mark" or "Can Mark"?

Browning named there signature line up of pistols the Buck Mark series after there company symbol which is a male white-tailed deer which are called bucks by most hunters....

I think because "squirrel mark" sounds very unimpressive.

Joe says: "Hey, Bob! You want to try out my new Browning Squirrel Mark?"
Bob says: "No, thanks, Joe. I've got to go paint my nails, you have fun."

Buck Mark just sounds more Manly. (sorry ladies.)
