Generally, Miller's plays are tragedies. A central character loses everything... sometimes even his life, because of some weakness or "tragic flaw". Usually this flaw is something like Pride or Lust but it is hard to generalize about such a huge body of work.

The Crucible...? The Salem Witch Trials.
Try reading it. It's a considerably short play, and it's not a difficult read.
