I know that the crucible is basically based on the time of McCarthyism and the house of un-American activities - McCarthyism is the use of accusations that are unsupported and usually without proper truth or evidence. Miller likened the situation with the House Un-American Activities Committee to the witch trials in Salem in 1692.

http://www.oocities.org/researchtriangle/lab/4191/... this website tells you a bit about his political views and it is mostly on the crucible.

    Hope this helps:)

i grew to become right into a theater minor in college and that i will in undemanding terms even think of of The Crucible and loss of existence of a salesperson. Your question would possibly no longer get a lot of distinctive solutions till you take place upon a Miller fanatic! Of the two, I choose loss of existence of a salesperson. i've got continually had to play the element of Biff on degree.
