Coconut oil has linoleic acid--and so it's actually reducing LDL levels. It also has some saturated fat-however, it's medium chain, so even though they say that saturated fat is bad for the body--the medium chain saturated fat is needed to help the linoleic acid. In addition, coconut oil has some healing properties so it's excellent for the skin. I put it on my feet and put a old pair of socks on before I go to bed and my feet are always soft.
There are some studies that were done in countries that use a lot of coconut oil in their cooking and the overall LDL rate in those populations were lower than in countries that don't use coconut oil.

I don't think coconut oil has side effect. Try to drink it without probiotic. And get virgin coconut oil, not just "coconut oil" because virgin coconut oil has more lauric acid.

I use it as a cooking oil and a moisturizer. It's also antibacterial and antifungal so you can use it for things like that too

I've heard it causes impotency.

In fact when I tried it for 6 months I was unable to get an erection, then when I stopped using it everything returned to normal.
