Are 1911 conversion kits compatible with the Colt Series 70 and 1991 Pistols?

Basically what I'm wondering is if the castings on the Colt Series 70 and 1991 pistols are the same specs as those on the original 1911's (manufactured during WWII). My ultimate goal is to use a 1911 .22 conversion kit on whatever modern 1911-type I buy.

Colt does not use castings for their 1911 frames and slides. The use forgings that are then machined. The original specs were standardized by Colt and yes, Colt 1911 pistols continue to be built to Colt specifications.
