Answer me this.. Why in hell are the Dem's against voter identification. Are they afraid that illegals will not be able to vote.. that dead people will not be able to vote.. THAT THERE WILL BE NO VOTER FRAUD. The U.S. is supposed to be one of , if not the leader in freedoms around the world,. or so we boast.. and yet we are so afraid to ask for a persons i d, when voting for the most important thing in the world.. our politics.. and our very freedoms.
For Holder and the idiot Obama to be against this is treasonous, they make all Americans look ignorant.. there is no good answer.. but I would dearly love to hear it. Come on ! Let me have it!

MARK AND OTHERS.. OF COURSE THE IDS SHOULD BE FREE, ALTHO IF THEY COST A BUCK, iM PRETTY SURE EVERYONE COULD AFFORD IT... THE POINT IS THEY SHOULD BE ISSUED AT GOVERNMENT OFFICES, STAMPED AND PROTECTED SO THEY COULD NOT BE COUNTERFEITED.. IT IS A SMALL THING.. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE.. IF TO LAZY TO GET ONE.. I hate to say it but you're not going to get a logical response. It'll be denial or no response at all. As long as they get what they want from their messiah it's "Hear no evil, see no evil".
As you can see the anti ID people are siteing the 24th amendment. The goverment is not now has never and will never make a legal american citizen pay to vote. All the states that now require some form of ID must still let you vote,the vote will be placed aside if the voter cannot produce one of the many forms of ID. Then the voter will a certain amount of time to get one. The states bend over backwoods and go out of there way to get people IDs and many offer free IDs and will even waiver birth cert fees to obtain a voter ID. So the 24th is not an issue like the libs say.also the libs use voter suppretion and infact all the states that require IDs are up in regerstration especially amoung minoratys. It comes down to the liberals not wanting to play fair because cheating helps them and that is a fact.
There was a story of an elderly woman, who has been able to vote for 56 yrs. She can't vote in this election because of the voter ID law, she cannot access the records showing her birth name, her birth certificate had been destroyed and her social security lists her married name only. She had various IDs, but not the voter ID. And contrary to what some of the posters say, there is usually about a $10 fee for that ID.
The thing is, those people who will have a harder time getting the voter ID for this election are primarily Democrats. This law, while the basis is good, is the Republicans way to keep Democrats from voting. Which sounds more like voter fraud to me during this election year.
And since the voter fraud is a construct of the Conservatives, the ID we have now is sufficient for free elections which we have now.
Besides, if illegals want to vote, what is to stop them? They already can forge driver's licenses and social security cards, what to keep them from forging voter IDs as well? Those driver's licenses and SS cards they have now are supposed to be forge proof.
If you are old and cannot drive then you have to rely on someone else to help you get this ID. Maybe you are blind and you have to have someone help you get this new ID. Maybe you are poor and you cannot afford a car. All of these things make it harder for people to vote and the fact is all these thingas are totaly uneccessaery because the facts are that voter fraude is non-exsistent. There have been come questions about conservative Republican Primary elections where republicans have cheated but, no real problem in the general eletions. So, as usual you right wingers do not know the facts but spew out whatever it is that you heard.
Can you find a link a single conviction for 'imposter' voter fraud? (The kind ID laws are intended to prevent.) A single instance anywhere in the USA in the past 20 years. ONE. Only one. A news story? A court record? How about just an indictment. Not even a conviction. Can you?

Now, let's get to the Constitutionality of the issue. (You DO believe in the Constitution don't you?) Here's the 24th amendment. The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax.
What part of the amendment is ambiguous? You CAN NOT charge people to vote. Period. A poll tax is still a poll tax even when it's collected at the DMV.
