Getting induced on Wed April 4th...?

So my doctor and I decided to induce labor on the 4th. my due date isn't actually until the 7th but with Easter being that weekend we decided 3 days early wouldn't be terrible. also i have been having off and on again contractions since about 34 weeks. (a LOT of stress!) this is my second pregnancy. with my son (who is now 2 1/2) i went naturally the day after my due date. what i though it kind of fun is that my son was born 11/04/09 and now my daughter (hopefully!) will be born 04/04/12 AND both on Wednesdays the same as their father. :-) i'm just wondering if there's anyone else out there who was/will be induced and if you can give me a run down of your experience.

Thanks!!

katsura- No I decided to induce and he agreed to let me. We've been talking back and forth about inducing for quite awhile now due to complecations i have been having. high blood pressure, early contractions, high stress...... however the the week he would normally do an induction he is out of town for a conference so we decided on the 4th.

also considering the fact that i am having a tubal ligation anyway the risk of c-section is not a huge deal for me right now. but i appreciate your concern.

I was induced w my first at 39 weeks due to pre eclampsia. I had cervadil for about 8 hours to soften the cervix. I threw up every hour from this. They started pitocin and I had regular contractions for 6 hours and I wasn't progressing. They couldn't break my water bc my son moved up. I ended up needing a c section. Good luck :)

Your doctor decided to induce because your due date is on Easter weekend?

Giving birth 3 days early is not a big deal, no, but induction can be a big deal. You know that about HALF of inductions end up in c-section, right?

I would never have agreed to this.

I do wish you much luck!
