If you are in this much trouble less than a year after buying, you made some really horrible mistakes. Govt programs to stave off foreclosure have been a costly disaster. Most end up in foreclosure within 6-12 months. It's a nightmare. Nobody is going to help you but you now.
Can you take in a roommate, rent a room? Can you rent out the house for enough to pay the mortgage, taxes and insurance? You'd be eliminating utility costs since the tenant is responsible for all utilities, and all interior & exterior maintenance (clean gutters, mow lawn, etc). Then you can rent a cheap room for a year or so until you get yourself sorted out. Maybe you can rent out the garage for storage, tho it's hard to get more than $100/month for garage storage space.
You have several options -- either move into a smaller house and rent this one out OR take on a roommate or two. You could also rent out the garage for storage.
My aunt-in-law has been staving off a foreclosure for the last 18 months and has investigated every possible gov't program out there for help, with absolutely no luck.
Just pay your payments. If you don't pay your payments, why should anyone want to do it for you? You do realize that when you get 'help', that means some taxpayer is funding you, right?
