how do I download OSX lion to create an install disc for free (this is legal BTW)?

I'm having problems with my startup HD and I need an OSX lion install disc, I hear that it's possible with the mac app store download, HOWEVER my mac came with OSX lion pre-installed and the m-app store wants me to pay £21 to download it (despite already owning it).
how can I get round this without resorting to pirated software (pirated OSs never work and their too risky)

The 21 pounds is for the Upgrade version of Lion (10.7), for use when upgrading from Snow Leopard (10.6), for example.

And, that is NOT what you want to do. But, this is:

"Just hold down Command-R during startup and Lion Recovery springs into action. It lets you choose from common utilities: You can run Disk Utility to check or repair your hard drive, erase your hard drive and [reinstall a fresh copy of Lion], or restore your Mac from a Time Machine backup. You can even use Safari to get help from Apple Support online. And if Lion Recovery encounters problems, it will automatically connect to Apple over the Internet."

TIP: OS X Lion does NOT use "Installation DVDs", period. It does a 'real-time download', instead.
