Help remove document from desk top?

I was trying to download in a correct format some documents and now I find one of the docs is covering half of blank area of my desk top. How can I remove it? I have tried a few things but nothing.
I am using WIN7.

I think you have downloaded all document to your desktop(drive c)...
Just select them all and shift+delete...all clear...
