Advice on Aspergers--Help please?

I have a friend who has a severe form of aspergers with a carryover of autism. His father has aspergers but not as bad. His grandmother has aspergers but just lightly. His grandmother is worried that if he had a child, the child will be in a vegetative state. I cant find out a lot of information on how it goes from one generation to another but what I did read infers that it does not continue generations. Does anyone have any personal insight on it.?

*sigh* I also have aspergers and I worry if i have children. will they get it? and I worry if they're gonna hate me for it because its genetics?

personally I don't buy that. Remember much of the brain is still a mystery. Now my autism hasn't been linked genetically like that. but my epilepsy has . I don't care what the doters say my sisters epilepsy and mine are genetically related somehow going back thou my family history on both sides nobody has autism except for me. and me and my sister both have epilepsy. The doctors say that my sisters and I epilepsy is unrelated but who is closer then your own full blooded sister DNA wise.Remember were all humane and were all a little different gene wise. So know to people are alike That's what I think anyway

It is genetically inherited and the odds are greater if two people have the gene in their DNA.

As far as I know AS and autism in general are not genetic, but they may run in families.
