Seniors, remember being On the Road with Charles Kuralt?

I always liked to watch his segments. He always went off the beaten path and introduced us to many interesting people and sights. Does anyone else miss On the Road with Charles Kuralt? I always thought he had a way with words.

Yes I miss him. It was my way of 'traveling', visiting places I knew I would never visit on my own. There are things on tv I enjoy that are interesting to watch and can teach me things I never knew. I enjoyed watching the saga of the Meerkrats when it was on. What I don't enjoy in nature is programs that show wild animals killing other animals for food. I always change channels when that comes on. I always feel so sorry for the poor victim.
Yes, I tried watching Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, who is okay but I liked Kuralt with his road trips and finding unusual and colorful characters in the American landscape. Too bad these people have to die off. The ending of the current program is similar to the other one, the sounds of nature.
Do you remember David Susskind with Open End? There used to be such good programs on before cable TV.
Yes, he was a good writer. Turned out after he died we found out he was quite a rake - kept a mistress secret from his wife for many years. I do like Charles Osgood very much, too.
