Min Wage question vs commission?

My employer changed the way he pays his employees..he calls it commission pay and that is how we get paid weekly now. I worked 50 hours a week and my pay check was 235.00 I can't live on this..even if cut every ones rate of pay..But by law doesn't he have to pay the states min wage isn't that what it is placed there for? what can i do?

no, if you can get the minimum wage through commission thats good enough really. i live in Scotland and there is a lot of places up here that only pay commission, ie the better you perform the better the pay.

BUT he should have given you proper notice and ask you to sign a new contract about changes the way you are paid, if he didnt, then you can get him into big trouble

if in UK, you an visit your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and get advice from them. if anywhere else you will have a business near by that will do the same, that deals with unfair dismissal, problems in work places etc, so find one asap
