What are recommended pages on facebook. How do they just show up in your profile is it stuff that you viewed?

they are the pages which are 'liked' by the pages that you have 'liked' also if a some of your friends(more than 4-5) 'like' a page the it is recommended to you, some are sponsered so they show up as recomendations.
