Anyone new to guitar buy Rocksmith? Are you happy with it?

I have been waiting for the PC version of it to come out. I don't have any musical instrument experience but have always wanted to pick up guitar. I have 3 kids at home who all play piano, and one of them plays piano and trumpet and one of these days when I have finshed paying for all of their lessons I may treat myself to some guitar lessons. I thought Rocksmith might be something fun to do with the kids and though I'm sure its no replacement for guitar lessons it may at least get me started.

Personally I was disappointed with it, but maybe it's just me. It seems to get pretty good reviews I guess. Here's my issues. First off it teaches no real technique as far as making a note or chord sound correct. If you don't place your fingers just right and play a chord through an amp, it will sound bad. On Rocksmith, as long as your fingers are on the correct strings, it sounds perfect. One of my biggest issues is this. It requires you to look at your screen/TV constantly to see which notes to play. A beginner is constantly having to look at their hands to play at first. This is hard enough without having the notes on the screen to look at. Also, unlike tabs, the notes in Rocksmith are moving rather than being static. What does this mean. It means that your are basically having to do what's called site reading in the music world. With tabs the notes are written down in a static manner, you can look at them as long as you want and refer back when necessary. Rocksmith is just like Guitar Hero, the notes are coming at you and you have to quickly assimilate this information all while trying to make your hands from chords and strum properly. It is just too much going on for most beginners. I'll put it this way. It would take me at least 5 times as long to learn a song using Rocksmith compared to having the same notes in front of me as tablature. It's a cool game and a decent suppliment to lessons or even instruction DVDs, but I don't recommend it as your primary way of learning. If you just want to play around with it a bit before trying some other methods of learning that's cool, but you will want more than this game to teach you.

If you just begin to perform the guitar you then require the most effective programs available on the market to discover ways to play this hard instrument and the most effective is Jamorama website, here https://tr.im/hsVva
In the event that you are going to learn the guitar for initially (Or perhaps you attempted before and only couldn't obtain the "hold" of it), then Jamorama is the best class for you since every training has a video to accompany the concepts, and when you have gone by way of a week of lessons, you can get and printing a workout page connected with those lessons.
The video classes explain to you how to enjoy chords – the fundamentals of enjoying guitar. You'll figure out how to enjoy major, slight, 7th, and clean chords. If that you do not understand what some of that means, do not let it frighten you. It's all explained in more detail in the videos.
A good thing about this really is after you receive these principles down, the names and the technicality just move to the back ground and that you don't genuinely have to take into account it far more – you are able to only enjoy!
