Is 21 too young to get engaged?

I'll be 21 on August 10th and my boyfriend will be 23 in on August 12th. We want to get engaged in August. We have been dating for about 8 years now. We don't live together but we've been searching for some place to live. Though the "search" has been put on hold for a couple of reasons (no I'm not preggo), we would still like to get engaged. I was just curious is the "community" thought 21 was too young to get engaged? Once engaged, we're not going to rush to get married. We'll probably wait until I'm 23 or so...

I got married at the age of 18 and we've been married for 6 years now. So of course I don't think 21 is too young to get engaged. It all depends on how mentally prepared you are, and if you truly love this man.

In your case, no; re. dating for 8 years.  I agree that waiting until you're 23 (at least) is a good idea.

awww thats sweet. well im 20 and ive been in a 4 year relatiobship and i really want to get engaged. alot of people get engaged at our age and younger. miley cyrus is 19 an engaged
