Backdoor built into Skype; what are your thoughts?
M$ built a backdoor into Skype http://memeburn.com/2011/07/microsoft-and-skype-set-to-allow-backdoor-eavesdropping/ .
Also, you need to be very careful with using Skype if you like to torrent : http://insanetek.com/news/1-web-and-industry-news/862-skypes-p2p-network-could-lead-to-getting-caught-torrenting .
The FBI wants backdoors built into just about every thing http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/05/fbi-seeks-internet-backdoors/ and they seem to have gotten somewhere with it https://mashable.com/2012/05/23/fbi-spy-on-skype/ .
I was just wonder what others thought, do you think it is good, problematic, FUD?
@Casca Longinus, no this is not news to me in the slightest. I personally like to keep up with the Computer Security. Anyone with a gmail account; every piece of data that is deleted from the account remains on the Google servers to 7+ years. Facebook is owned by the Government so everything is monitored there more closely as US Soldiers use it more, though few know about diaspora. I just wanted to know what others thought and felt on these more current issues of having a backdoor built into almost every email service, social network, IM client, VoIP, &c., Windows 7 most likely has a backdoor built right in anyway.
