Backdoor built into Skype; what are your thoughts?

M$ built a backdoor into Skype http://memeburn.com/2011/07/microsoft-and-skype-se... .

Also, you need to be very careful with using Skype if you like to torrent : http://insanetek.com/news/1-web-and-industry-news/... .

The FBI wants backdoors built into just about every thing http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/05/fbi-seeks... and they seem to have gotten somewhere with it https://mashable.com/2012/05/23/fbi-spy-on-skype/ .

I was just wonder what others thought, do you think it is good, problematic, FUD?

Update:

@Casca Longinus, no this is not news to me in the slightest. I personally like to keep up with the Computer Security. Anyone with a gmail account; every piece of data that is deleted from the account remains on the Google servers to 7+ years. Facebook is owned by the Government so everything is monitored there more closely as US Soldiers use it more, though few know about diaspora. I just wanted to know what others thought and felt on these more current issues of having a backdoor built into almost every email service, social network, IM client, VoIP, &c., Windows 7 most likely has a backdoor built right in anyway.

Hmm... this may cause a few problems with my daily basis, I have a few friends which I like to discuss my torrented games with. Then again, I live in England and considering it's the FBI, I don't think that they can do anything. If anything, they'll be busy enough handling things in the US.

IMO the penalty when caught won't be too severe, because torrenting is so widely used nowadays. They might issue some sort of warning though so I'd be careful.

    Well, they're just my thoughts.

    This is news to you?

Everyone wants to spy on everything you do, and the government WILL, and does spy on everything, but there are not enough people to monitor everything everyone does, it's just logged, and filed away for possible future use. They will only take a close look at you if you somehow get on their radar.

Be careful what you say, and where you go online...

the main present information is that one IRS worker as properly to the pilot advance into killed. first of all terrorism is in no way justified , whether you compromise with the guy in his IRS dispute. 2nd, tax regulation is made by employing congress. IRS workers are basically common people doing a activity the best they might. we are residing in a democracy and we are all unfastened to vote for some person who will replace the tax regulation if we don't love what the IRS is doing. 0.33, whether we do disagree with the way the IRS handles a case, we've a ethical criminal accountability to pay the taxes we owe until eventually the regulation is replaced.
