For those with some arthritis; is the old tradition true that you feel more aches when rain is coming?

In my case, I find my arthritic aches are _reduced_ on rainy days. What's your experience?

Any quick change in barometric pressure does it for me. I usually feel it just prior to actual storm

Some people find that there's definitely a change in their arthritis before there is a change in weather.

The current theory is that the muscles/tendons/ligaments hold the joint in its position. But when the weather changes, the atmospheric pressure changes and the muscles/tendons/ligaments are affected (I believed pulled closer to the earth's surface) thus causing the joint to be moved ever so slightly out of line and cause pain.

I don't really find much difference in my joints before it rains. Occasionally my hips will hurt a bit more. I find that I'm better in colder weather than warmer. But it all depends on the individual and what sort of arthritis you have.

p.s. I notice you posted this in the 'Senior Citizens' section. I'm 22 and have had juvenile/autoimmune arthritis since I was 8 years old.

Yes, now not handiest historical farmers can predict weather however they were extra accuratge as well For instance if you happen to see a spider start weaving net external the dwelling, it method no rain will come or that you could say that the rainy season is over. On this manner the old farmers study to predict about the climate some occasions situated on nature or some instances their possess expertise.

I don't really know about the "old tradition" but do
find that my aches and pains are more obvious
on damp days, but as damp days in the UK
invariably mean colder too, then that is no doubt
why I am more aware of the arthritic aches and
pains.

It is just something that we learn to live with,
no point in moaning, I just smile my way
through it.

My experience is I do feel more pain with weather changes. That is not to say it is only when rain ic coming, I'm not really sure, but I have felt bent with pain, then without reason I can ut my finger on it will seem to lift spontaneously. Maybe barometric pressure, I don't even clearly understand barometric pressure, I just know weather changes directly affect muscle strength and bone pain.
