Absolutly no yogurt!!!! Clear liquids and broths. Give him pedialyte, gatorade or 7 up, ginger ale is also touted for helping upset stomachs. Keeping him hydrated is the most important thing. Try giving one spoonful of frozen 7 up at a time or give him a popsicle. Do not worry about appetite, as long as he can keep down jello or popsicles for a couple of days that is the most important. For the fever, cool baths and washcloths for his face and head also help to bring down the fever as will the popsicles. If he knows how to chew gum without swallowing it, that is a good way to keep the ear canals moving which helps with ear infections, also helps prevent them. Sleep sleep sleep. If he is not better by morning, take him in again. Ask the doctor about a suppository to help with vomitting, they are the most amazing things if he is old enough to have one. Good luck. My thoughts are with you.
I would take him back to the ER! I mean if he cant even hold down the antibiotic he wont get better!!! I'm surprised they didn't start him on an iv with antibiotics! He is very young to have pneumonia... I would be safe then sorry! Good Luck!
Gatorade definitely, by the eye dropperful. His electrolytes have dipped, so he throws everything up. Alcohol baths, washcloth wet with rubbing alcohol, rubbed all over his chest back and legs with help to bring down the temp, also if you can put him in the bath with tepid to cool water, it will also help to bring it down. give him bites of cracker after he has kept down the Gatorade. Just little bits at a time. Same thing happened to my husband. Once I gave him that Gatorade, his electrolytes went back up, the fever broke, and he was able to eat again, or course after much prayer as well. It will work, Good luck.
