Just like other bums and derelicts, if he tried to comb it, it would crack off his head. Bums always seem to have a lot of hair matted like rat's nests. Their hair actually turns to felt like sheep's wool does. Saves on the expense of a hat. Makes drugged-out faces look craggier and scarier.
