Video games to live a better life?

I've realized recently, that my boyfriend uses video games to escape reality. Now, when he has something to do, he stresses over it to no end.
When school starts again in the Fall, I know he's going to be a really angry person. So for the summer, I've just tried to let him relax and have a careless atmosphere.
That includes video games almost 24/7.
Now, don't get me wrong. I love video games. I play them quite often myself. But he told me that he's using the games to create an "alternate reality"... so he doesn't have to deal the stress of real life.
I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't mind him doing this to occasionally relax.

But I've realized that he's TOO into creating a different world. He's miserable in the real one.

So my question:
How can I make him feel more relaxed with his life, so he doesn't feel the need to "escape" as often? This habit takes all of his waking day... from 10am to 3am the next day. Constant.

How can I make him happier in his every day life? I hate seeing him so upset.

Its not necessary bad that he's using the games to relax but it sounds like he's getting to much into them. Try just going out doing simple things with him taking some walks maybe going out learn something new together something you both have always wanted to learn something that requires some focus and isn't to easy either a little bit of stress is good once in a while so the frustration of learning something new that he wants to know shouldn't be so much stress that he just gives up and goes back to his other reality but enough that he can learn how to push on from the challenges. If he doesn't learn that stress is a part of life he won't have what it takes to pass school

Well he is probably stressed with all the work and exams, so maybe talk to his teacher about it.
Playing video games all day cant be good, so talk to a doctor about it.
Maybe see a psychologist, because it may be the first signs of depression.
My school psychologist talked to us about stress and said it's good to write a list to all the solutions and find the best one.
Maybe you could take him on a holiday. NOt necessarily inter state but maybe to an outing at the beach.
He is your BF so hang out with him more?
Hope I helped
