How is this statement racist?

Voula Papachristou was kicked out of the Olympics after sending a tweet that read, "with so many Africans in Greece, at least the West Nile mosquitos will eat homemade food."

Am I missing something?

How is that racist? It's definitely clever and funny, but I can't see how it can be construed as racist.

Imagine a Chinese athlete wrote, "With so many Americans in Beijing, at least the mosquitos will be well fed" (a thinly-veiled comment about Americans being fat)

How dangerous is it when we lose our sense of humor?

The idiocy of Political Correctness is literally unfathomable. If I object to millions and millions of a certain nationality or race flooding into an area, that is racist? It is common sense that too much of anything is often bad. Would Saudi Arabia want millions of Americans flooding into their capital, demanding fast food and hamburgers? I learned Spanish and spent a year in
Spain because I like the language, but even I would not want any area in the U.S. to become so overrun with Spanish speaking people that it becomes like a foreign country translated to America.

We are supposed to accept everyone no matter what problems they cause. We must even pretend they don't cause any problems. Their overpopulating hordes can destroy the economy undercutting wages in their own lands and flood into ours to destroy ours the same way but we should just welcome them.

Yes, the world has gone completely insane. What seems nice matters more than surviving. For the sake of equality we should be happy to starve and die with the hordes of "locust" people swallowing all the economies of the world.

It's offensive because he's saying the mosquitoes will stay to feed on Africans instead of other etnicities which he thinks is better...

Also by saying "with so many Africans" it makes it sound like he's bothered by the influx of Africans in Greece which is racist

It is what it is... When someone hears that it often gives off a perception that you think lowly of them and disgusted by their presence near you. If it wasn't for history and media, I'm sure this would not be the case. I'm sorry if you disagree but I'm just expressing my opinion on this

Some people have no sense of humor.
That's just one of the reasons of being politically correct all the time.

In victim mentality, those that wish to see a dig will see one where none was intended.
