Would you pay just 11 cents more for a pizza to give employees healthcare?

The Papa John CEO is pissing and moaning that the cost of Obamacare will add 11 cents to the price of a pizza. Any rational person would think in the big scheme of things, that paying 11 cents more for a pizza to provide healthcare to employees who can't afford it on their own is a fair trade-off for our society.

and I bet that's a HIGH END estimate... I bet in the end it won't be anywhere close to 11 cents...

I would rather pay 11 cents more a pizza than $50 more every paycheck because the delivery driver goes to the ER and I have to pay for that...

*I haven't been to pappa john's in a year because it's about $5 more than EVERY OTHER PIZZA PLACE... but he's complaining about 11 cents?

doubt I'm heading back anytime soon after this story..

I'm concerned about common healthcare -- however this is neither common or fair. For that subject, it doesn't even unfold the wealth, considering it is not spreading over to me or anyone else for that subject. As an alternative, it is targeted at a specific team of workers. We're advised that if we do not bail out the giant Three, the recession will probably be deeper and extra painful. Nevertheless, given that they were already incompetent at designing automobiles, managing cash and workers, why can we wish to supply these persons more of our money. Sure, i do know in regards to the unhappy studies of Michigan crops closing and people having to depart their hometowns. Well, I've had to are living in 4 unique states & on 2 salaries my husband and i do not make the equal quantity as 1 autoworker. I guess, we're just not as good as a snapshot op as a burly guy in a uniform and a cap. Where is exactly MY fatherland? And, by the way, what's so nice about Michigan that we're concerned about autoworkers having to seek out work in other places? What about other states? What about different industries? I've never in my existence gotten any handouts from the government. I'm liberal & i am no longer towards them for truly struggling contributors. But you ought to discontinue at industries. For one thing, this is not new. When have the us Automakers not been struggling? Why haven't these companies stored up with the occasions. I'm tired of them yanking the "purchase American" chain, then making crappy cars (lamentably, I purchased a number of). Ample already. Shut 'em down. Numerous us will probably be eating dog food without an Auto Bail-out.

Not true. John Schnatter, chief executive of the pizza chain, latest estimates is 20 cents or more per order. An initial guess which is expected to at least double after Obamacare kicks into high gear. This amount also did not include the additional personnel his pizza business would need to hire in order to deal with the bureaucracy and paperwork requirements.

Sure. I still say Universal Health Care is the way to go, everyone pays, everyone is covered. Since we cut out the board and the corporate Health Care's profit motive, we could also save Papa John and others, a lot more than 11¢

Sure. It's not like I eat their pizza that much anyway. For me that would cost maybe an extra $0.60 a year.

And if people don't like that they are subsidizing a PJ employees healthcare then they can always just quit ordering it. They would probably lose some weight too!

I was raised on Christian ethics after all. Helping my fellow man is something I'm supposed to do.
