We are probably looking at a point within the next decade or two, HOWEVER that does not mean that all Christians will accept the decision.

The Pope does not approve of either one. He cannot approve of sin. He simply said that condoms might be justifiable to prevent AIDS if you are going to fornicate anyway. He said nothing about fornication being any less sinful than it has always been. He could not do so. The charism of infallibility prevents such an error. He also cannot "approve" of that which is impossible by definition. Therefore homosexual "marriage" will never be "approved". And even if it was, it wouldn't change anything. The Pope as not approved either. He was quoted out of context as usual.
