What do Republicans think over Romney admitting that he only pay tax rate of 13% year after year?

What do Republicans have to say about Romney continually refusing to release his tax returns?

Romney paid such little tax for earning over 340 million, its a joke. Romney because he is filthy rich is arrogant and saying...Let the little people eat cake, basically F yourselves.

From what I see and hear a good many of the Rep. hierarchy believe he should release them to stop the daily chatter of why he isn't. While I believe his taxes are on the up n up meaning paid in strict accordance with the law, I also believe there is something there that most Americans would find distasteful. It's also hypocritical to demand tax returns during the vetting process of his VP candidates without releasing his own. By the way, he did promise to release his '11 records when his accountants had them completed. Most of us met the tax deadline of April 15 and here it is 4mths after that and his aren't done yet? Seems to me that anyone running for office would have made sure they were completed unless of course not having them done was the plan for not having to release them!
I'm independent, but think 13% while probably legal is shameful! And this is the man we'll put in charge of tax reform! The middle class reduces their standard of living by 30% to support the government and he pays 13%. This should be an eye opener for the public to demand loophole closure in the tax laws. After all, who is taking advantage of these loopholes--corporations and those wealthy enough to have people to find them.

I am not a Republican, but I pay over 15% in taxes every year on less than $50,000 in income. My Social Security is taxed, part of my pension is taxed, any interest I get is taxed. Somehow 13% doesn't seem like much on income of over $200 million. I think it was a dumb statement. Most Americans can't equate the kind of Money Romney lives on to their own income. In addition, it doesn't clear up his reasoning for not producing earlier tax returns when he and his wife both indicate that producing those returns would do him more harm than good.

Something in those returns is not Kosher, not to say anything is illegal; just a big enough issue to turn off voters.

Could he have benefited from the 2009 Amnesty Agreement pertaining to those who had offshore accounts and failed to report them on their tax returns? But for the Amnesty Agreement, that would have been a Federal Criminal offense?

Did he reduce his tax liabilities by claiming a high current value for stock he donated to charities that he acquired at very low prices? (One of his Bain strategies was to create multiple stock classes for companies he acquired that allowed him basically to manipulate prices by assigning debt to one class and assigning profits to another.)

Is there something in those returns that would prove that he actually did have input in Bain Capital's operations after his supposed retroactive 1999 retirement?

None of the above are illegal, at least not now, but do prove that Romney has not been honest with the American Public.

That's about what I would expect from someone who makes most of their money from capital gains. Capital gains are taxed at 15% (for long term gains). For what it's worth, that money typically has already been taxed at the corporate level before Romney gets it.

I don't know what people are upset about; no one--not even Warren Buffett--pays more taxes than they're legally obligated to pay.

As to Romney's tax returns, the ones he's already released were quite boring and I don't especially care to see more of them.

Romney also said, he'd been a resident of Massachusetts, for over seven years, when running for Governor of Massachusetts... But actually, Romney had filed his state tax returns as a Utah resident in 1999 and 2000.... The guy's been caught, in to many lies, to believe anything he says, with out proof..
