Guys: Is it hard to trust a girl? What kind of relationship must there be in place?

For example, my crush and I discuss a lot of things that involve our group at church and he's always like "this stays between us" -- Because I don't think he should be sharing some of the things he knows with me. But some stuff involves me.

I'm sometimes confused with my relationship with him. We're friends and I think there is potential for more... but I'm uncertain, because I can see he trusts me with this information and with other personal things too.. 

Is it hard for a guy to trust a girl? What kind of relationship do you have to have with her in order to keep secrets or have trust with important information?

Well, ..., yes it can be hard for guys to trust anyone.  Whenever someone shares something with you in confidence DO NOT break that confidence by sharing it with anyone else unless of course they're planing physical harm to themselves or others then go straight to the police. If your crush is sharing with you on that level then that demonstrates the he has a great deal of trust in you and, in turn, you should be faithful to his trust in you.

Since you both attend church then you know how important goodness, faithfulness, and selfless devotion are to a relationship.  If you really want your relationship to grow then continue talking with him and communicating with each other.  Concentrate on building a deep and everlasting friendship.  If it is God's will love and the bond of marriage will grow out of the kindness, selfless devotion, and mutual respect you have for one another.
