Who said " the people should not fear the government, the government should fear the people?" Perhaps it is time for us to take the blame for the condition of our country since we have allowed our government Democrat or Republican, Corporate Greed to do as they pleased. The parties will continure to be self serving and in the pockets of big business as long as we allow it.

Thomas Jefferson. Smart man...
The actual quote by Jefferson is "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
A variation of this was written by Alan Moore in the V for Vendetta comic book series in the late 1980s (which was made into a movie in 2005). The quote in this was: "People should not fear their government. Government should fear their people."
You guys realize this is cyclical, right? You guys have been saying the same thing for nearly 150 years. "Oh, parties and corporate greed are the problem."
NO! The problem is the system that constantly leads to corrupt parties and corporatism. The problem is Capitalism.
