First time voter, what should you know?

Have you ever wondered why so many American's don't vote? I pondered, could it be because they just don't know how? Ok, so we get registered at the post office, court house, etc. They send you a voter registration card, now what???? Let's help out our fellow American's this year and make EVERY vote count. Please, leave your suggestions for others, and a step by step voting experience for those who have never done it before. Can you imagine being the one person to get in line and then NOT know what to do? Intimidation is not something we need to let keep us from the polls this year. Help out Americans!

@ Desire, thank you. I was hoping people would give this kind of instruction. It will really help those who have never even set foot inside a voting place. Any and every detail from what to do when you open the door, to the minute you step back out of it. Thanks again.

All you need to do is bring your sample ballot with you filled out so that when you get into the booth it is all written down who you are voting for. The instructions for the voting machine will be given to you when you check in so there isn't much you have to know. Only takes a couple of minutes and you are on your way.

I have voted both sides and down the middle meaning I vote for the best track record or against someone to remove from office as I will this year aganist Obama that I voted for last time. This year Im voting straight Republican so just maybe we have a President that gets along with the House and Senate to get America back on track

Not knowing how seems to be a problem for democrats. Remember in 2000 when they all got confused and voted for Pat Buchanan? Republicans don't vote out of apathy. They don't see much difference between the far left democrats and the moderate left republicans.

Why do you waste your holiday waiting at a Q to vote and elect a person who's going to benefit rich?
